To be examined for your RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate which can be used towards your MCA Master Of Yachts Unlimited Cert you will need to have completed a 600 mile non-stop passage as either the Skipper or First Mate, and be able to demonstrate you played an active role in the management and provisioning of the Yacht or Power Boat.

The passage should be at least 600 miles 200 of which must be at least 50 miles offshore. Your sightings will be presented to our Yachtmaster Ocean Examiner who will discuss with you during an oral Exam the passage and sightings in detail.

For candidates who hold the 5 day RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Certificate there is no requirement to take a written test, for those without they will be required to take a written assessment during the Exam.

We run the 5 day RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Course on demand.

We can also organise the 600 mile non-stop passage during which you will have the opportunity to do your sightings.

This course is sailed aboard a large comfortable Beneteau 48 foot yacht.
